Tried this in Australia, My CD changer busted, Ford couldn’t tell me what after market gear was compatible with the factory stereo and the after market places couldn’t do anything as they didn’t know ether.

Ford wanted $900 for a new CD stacker so I went and brought an Ipod.

ok...so no one knows what changer will hook up to the factory?

From what I know, which is not much, there is no aftermarket cd changers that are compatible with the factory dash unit. Also FYI if you change the dash unit then you also will lose the factory subwoofer too. This is from the stereo store that does the work for our local dealership.

you can integrate with the factory sub (though he doesn't have it). i've found one that'd work if you had the JBL system, but again you said you don't. sorry, i'll keep an eye out

Hey im from australia and i found a changer on the net that im looking at getting sent over here from the us. Its a USA SPEC SCD-100i. Its compatible with factory head unit and plugs straight in. Well thats wat they say. Its $250us so i dont know how much that is aussie dollars. give me a msg if you want a link for them but i think www.crutchfield.com sells them but they dont send them to australia. bugger!
