I'm not sure but that looks like a v12, in which case you are on crack. :) You're going to have to widen the frame, and add on a front clip from an f350, and maybe the rear of an older bronco, so it won't look funny, etc, etc. Basically, you'll need a new truck to fit that engine in there.

GO DUDE!!!

*puts down his crack pipe*

So do you guys think it will work?

I think I recognize that, it's an allison airplane engine right?

Yeah, we could get it to fit, Joe is a good welder and I can hold my own with a torch, my only concern would be the radiator clearance.

Yes Kampy, Allison V12.

Like a Glove!!!

LOLH....The tag team of Todd and Joe...Aint nothin stoppin them from getting their mission accomplished.... Lets see, Matt, when's the swap gonna start?

he never ceases to amaze me!

Remember when I told you I've worked on about everything under the sun? Well, alot of the heavy tractor pullers around here used to use them as puller motors till the parts got so expensive. So yes, I've worked on those engines also, but not alot.

Matt, you could have the first? rear-engine Explorer! The Allison would at least fit back in the cargo area :)

That solves the radiator clearance issues.

hmm...

If he's doin' a V12, then i've got to outdo him somehow... I've got it. How 'bout the diesel turbine used to power some of those russian tanks? 2000hp... Good God, I'd kill myself. I'd hafta lose the back seats, though, wouldn't i? i'd need full-time 4x4 just to stay planted... on the plus side, the rear doors would allow easy engine access....

Pete GOD DAMN IT what did I tell you about letting Matt of the little Yellow bus... WE need more porters to keep him on I guess

Hmm. Why settle for an Allison? I bet GE or Rolls Royce would be happy to sell you a 30,000lb thrust engine for the right price? :-)

seriously...

How much would an Allison V12 be? I sure willing to give it a shot if the engine isn't obscenely expensive. Send me dimentions. heh... If it won't fit in my explorer, can i try my mom's expedition? lol

That V12 was on EBAY for $21,000.

maybe a little excessive...

Well, that's just a tiny bit out of reach for now... Maybe if i weld 2 OHV's together end-to-end...
