Looking for input from fellow forum members. Explorer, original owner, responsibly maintained, no accidents, low mileage. KBB has the value at 4k-6k trade in, and private sale at 6k-10k.
 






Nothing lasts forever. If they won't cover it (and I'd be surprised if they do), either drive it until the wheels fall off, or unload it. I had a '94 CV that was running perfectly and was a lot of fun (other than the 3-digit ticket); but the paint was coming off in sheets. I was considering what to do with it while still driving it, and helpful local woman did me the favor of pulling out in front of me. 100% her fault. The car was still driveable, but State Farm totalled it and paid replacement (not repair or actual value) cost, which was probably triple its value. And I kept/stripped/parted-out the car.

The point is: keep it on the road, and insured. ;)

Blocked drain tubes causing water to pool in the footwell has been well documented here. Also, there is a thread with pictures that shows the issue with the liftgate's hinge cracks and cracks in the surrounding areas.
