Ok people, I lowered my 2001 Sport by 3 inches in the front and 2 inches in the back and it still rides rather well. I made bushing to fit between the torsion bars and the bump stops. I need lowered shocks and swaybars but I dont know where to find them. I can't remember the user's name, but I saw a guy on here some time back who had lowred his explorer and he had some fat sway bars under his truck. If you guys can help, that would be great, and one more thing, would the 5.4L v8 fit under the hood? I'm wondering I want to install a v8 but i dont like the explorer v8

i wanted to give this thread a bump because i was wondering the same thing. my ex is lowered and i wanted some swaybars too but didnt know where to look... i have herd a lot of good things about toxic shocks but dont know what size to get

The explorer express sway bar is the one you saw, you'll only need the rear one. You can get them at explorerexpress.com

Fitting a 5.4 is probably possible if you have a lot of time and knowledge. It will be a totally custom swap so you'll be on your own for a lot of it. A 302 swap isn't exactly easy either but if you get a complete donor 2nd gen it can be done, relatively easy as you'll have everything you need sitting there and just have to move it all over to the other explorer.

how identical are the 2nd gen explorers to the 3rd gen sports? I mean as in mechanically?

thanx man
