Just got my new 2002 Explorer and want to change it a bit. Problem is, I cannot find ANYONE with modification for 2002 Explorers. I know '02 was a re-design year for the Explorer, but I would think by now some things would be available. Specifically I am looking for:

- Chip Hacks
- Gague Replacements (preferable Indiglo)
- Rims/Tires
- Air Filter Replacements

I've been to the usual places (TireRack, Pro Car Pars, etc) but nothing is being listed as "2002" Does the 2001 stuff work and people are just lax about updating their website? Or there something else I'm missing?

Any help/links would be appreciated.

Thanks

wow nice ride! I dont know about the mods, but man the 2002 explorer is growing on me little by little, i think its pretty sweet actually, try doing a search for modification information on the 2002, you might be able to come up with some stuff

Yea, it grew on me too. I was initially concerned about the transition to it from my BMW M3, about as big of change in vehicles as you can get. But the Explorer had many positives over the Bimmer. Namely:

- Practicality
- Cheaper Insurance
- Cheaper Repairs
- More "Bells and Whistles"
- Off-Road ability

On top of that, I got Ford X-Plan pricing AND 0%, it was a done deal.

Yea, I've heard the "soccer mom" jokes from the guys in the office with their 5-series' and S-Class's. But I've realized over the past few years that those "fine german automobiles" are not as fine as you would think. What are they? Expensive.

After owning cars from all sides of the world, I have come back to good ol' USA. Short of owning a nice new Ferrari 360, I can't be happier.

you can check out intakes.... i saw some on ebay (Dead Link Removed ). ive seen billet grilles, and wood dash kits.

Know what you mean about the "transition", Pete.

I went from an '88 Integra to my '02 EB Explorer, 4x4, V8.

And a nice transition it is...;)
