Looking for some info on 4x4?

I'm looking into useing a wrecked v-8 Explorer as a doner for my Jeep. What auto transmission and transfer case is in the v-8 explorer? How long is it and what are the gear ratios in it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the Site, but what your hopeing to get out of the Explorer V-8 is not what you will find. All V-8 Explorers are AWD not 4wd, so the T-case is not a good choice. Next the transmission is computer controlled and that is a Problem since the computer and wiring would be way to much trouble to swap over. V-8 Explorers run on ODB II computer set up. The motor it self are good for the swap and the Rear axle would also be a good swap for you. You would what to use Mustang or Ford Motor sport wiring and computer and I would go to Advance adaptors for the Transmission options.
