I have a 98 mounty with a 5.0 awd. I have a 1/1 o2 heater code ( self inflicted)
I had a po401 also and originally have an o2 slow to respond code which I fixed with the dpfe, egr tube (was cracked and had exhaust leak)
I had the o2 and figured I would change it for good measure, well with limited access to it from underneath I couldn't get a real good bite on it with the o2 socket to get it to break loose so I heated it with a torch (the bung, not the actual sensor) and preceded to melt the heater circuit.
I have read that there is an access panel under the center console to get to the plugs, what I am wondering is can I also reach the o2s from there.I really don't want to spend $500 on a converter if I don't have to( that could be mod money). If I do I do but looking for any advice...Thanks in advance
