2003 XLS
Ok I've owned 1 ford in my life at it was an 1987 mustang, but I'm looking to buy a sport trac tomm because it's a great deal I seem that I can't pass up.. I found a 2003 XLS with 65k miles for $5000 is this a bad deal and what should I look out for when buying. Please let me know a friend has told me to stay away, that it's going to be a money it.. But I looked ad book value was around $10k.. And for $5k I can't pass it up cause I need a car..

Any info would help..

I myself, have a 2003 XLS... and I love it...
I bought it used, in 2009.

5k? Fantastic deal for an 03' XLS... I paid close to 9 for mine.

I have a 2003 XLT4wd, owned it for almost six years now and it's been the best vehicle I've ever owned and I owned a large variety of cars/ trucks.

Check it out very closely and ask why it's so cheap, R-title/ flood vehicle???

Here's a couple pictures of mine and the stages of change it's bben through.

Thanks

Well it's a Co-worker that is selling it I've worked with him for 11 years I remember when he bought it brand new... I've looked it over and asked questions nothing major wrong to my knowledge a little dent on the top from where maybe he drop his kayak unloading one day. He did say and a small dime size dent in the fender... Orther than that is needs a good bath, also how hard is it to find a center console for these.. I need a grey one...

Oh and it's going to need tires in the next year...
And suggestions of on maintenance that I should do again he has 65k miles

Sounds like a great deal and you're buying from someone you can trust, that's one hell of a great deal.

The only things I would suggest changing if he didn't do it already is the shocks (anything is better then stock) and swaybar endlinks (Moog problem Solver) both can be bought rellay cheap from rockauto.com. Make sure to get your discount code from the vendor section.

Gotta post pictures when you can.
