Loose hose connected to Left rear axle

While coming back to school, i noticed that i had a short, rubber, loose hose connected to the left side of the rear axle. My friend told me that it may be the diff vent hose and wanted to make sure here. If it is, can you tell me where the other end of the hose connects to. The car still runs fine but i feel weird with a hose hanging off my car.

its your diff breather, its suppsoed to be like that, just make sure its clipped to the highest point you can get it
