Problem with my 94 x with 155,000 miles bone stock.

About three weeks ago my cruise control quit working on my X. At that time I also have noticed that when i get on the highway and get going above 60 I have to press the pedal to the metal and even then it doesn't seem to wanna go. It take a very long time to get up to 70. The tranny seems to be shifting and working fine, but just has absolutely no power above 60.

Also have noticed that I have been getting about 11.5mpg. Very bad. I usually average about 15 in the city.

Everything seems to working fine. But there is something wrong here and can't figure it out.

Any thoughts? The one thing i can think of is a vacumm leak somewhere, but have no experience with them and do not know there syptoms.

Thanks for all the help folks.

Take a look at the throttle cable, and the throttle butterfly(correct name?) make sure nothing is getting stuck.

butterfly look fine, noting geting stuck that i see...uhmmmmmmmmmmmm

Could also be a fuel delivery issue, check fuel pressure.
Checking for a vacuum leak can be done with a cylinder of propane. Sometimes it can be done visually, if a hose has come off the vacuum tree or ripped or something like that.
Also, consider running the EEC-IV self-tests to see if the computer sees a fault.
