loss of power and pinging ????

Irecently cleaned my throttle body with carb cleaner.Now I have a loss of power and pinging during acceleration.The rpm's seem to surge up like its not getting fuel could the throttle position sensor be damaged now??

Yes... I cleaned the throttle body on my 5.0 Mustang and it began running poorly. I suspected the TPS, but did not associate it with the cleaning. I read somewhere a short time after to be cautious when cleaning the TB. Good luck!

changed sensor now check light on????

I changed the throttle position sensor and the engine runs fine but the check engine light comes on now.

Try disconnecting the battery for a half hour, then re- connect. Good luck.
