loss of power and instrument cluster

explorer started fine. idled at the end of the driveway and the radio kept cutting in and out. thought it was the station. drove on and noticed a hesitation (loss of get up and go in motor). it cleared on and i drove on. then loss of power again and nothing registering on my battery gauge and my speedometer and tachometer were no longer working. made it home and now the fun begins.
What could be the cause?...Which fuse is for the alternator? Any other suggestions on how to fix?
