lost in shift motor hell!

so instead of rebuilding the motor, i bought a new one from dorman. i put it in, swapped all the wires over and i put it in 4hi and ... ... i don't notice any difference. put it in 4lo... clunk... kinda felt like it was pulling...

back in 2 hi and driving through town and i gear like a cog noise from the passenger hub i think.


did i put the motor in wrong? my hubs goin out?

When you pressed the 4x4 button did the button and dash 4x4 light come on? From your description it sounds like the T-case is engaging correctly. The Pulling with 4x4 Low could simply be the T-Case being in low range causing the rpms to go way up.. If the 4x4 lights are on then you most likely have a broken hub.

i did put it back into the same position. the lights are coming in... i engaged 4hi the other day and put it in gear and i heard a gearing sound from the front end. so i went n bought locking hubs from the junkyard. what do i need to swap them out?
