Literally...while sriving...near catastrophe with a school bus. Scariest thing ever. Anyway, I checked and the fluid was bone dry...so I filled it up...pumped the breaks...got pressure back, but I noticed that the level of fluid had decreased. I looked under the truck and I saw that it was spraying out..all wet near the top of the wheel, and on the top of the wheel-well. I am assuming it is a break line, and not the master. Question being, how much does it cost to fix it? The 4 wheel drive also does not work, and I am questioing whether or not it is worth the fix?? Thanks in advance

Front or rear wheel? I could be the brake line.. you really need to see where its coming from. It could be the caliper (if on the front), wheel cylinder on the rear, flex brake line (up front) etc...

Once we know what part it is, we can tell you how expensive it is to fix.. but unless its a hard brake line, its pretty cheap to do..

Also, the most common cause of no 4x4 is the shift motor.. there is a good thread here about rebuilding the shift motor.. That is assuming the transfer case isn't going into 4x4 and not just the hubs not working...

OK...the fluid is in the front wheel well...passenger side. Appears to be spraying out. As far as the 4 wheel...the shift motor works...it engages...I can hear it in the front end engaging...but the front wheels do not pull. Got it satuck several times last year, the rear tires would spin, and the trucks back end would slide to the left

Time to get under the truck dude...

For the brakes, jack it up and remove the front tires. Fill the reservoir and have a helper pump the brakes, while you are observing where the leak is coming from. Make sure you're wearing safety glasses or a face shield (you really don't want brake fluid in the eyes)...

For the 4x4, do some searching on this site. There are a few really good troubleshooting threads. Sounds like your autohubs may be causing the problem, but you really need to do a thorough walk-through of the system.
