Right this is hard to explain/describe. At low revs it feels perky, at high revs it feels perky, but between 2500 and 3000rpm there seems to be a flat spot. This is quite a pain as this is where the engine seems to want to be at cruising speeds. The result is that when you mash the throttle it seems to take an eternity to get out of this band and respond positively. It also seems to affect the kickdown. Now this may just be characteristic of such a big vehicle but it seems a little odd. It revs quite happily with no load, but as soon as there is load it seems to struggle a bit. I took the Maf off the other day and gave it a clean (although it was clean enough anyway) and still it seems reluctant to haul ass!!

Slow from 2500 rpm

Mine is much the same. This is a natural level that sits (I guess in a lower gear) at around 30-40 mph. It picks up slowly from here and kicks down reluctantly. There's a lot of throttle pedal travel when not a lot seems to happen quickly. It feels like it's a characteristic of the engine/auto combination and is not a flat spot as such as it picks up smoothly, but incredibly slowly. It's a heavy lump to haul along but when it's at much the same revs at 70mph + it seems happy to pick up briskly to 80-85mph
