I have a loud clicking type noise from my front end when going over bumps. Sometimes it almost sounds like something is loose and I cant really tell if it is from just the left or right side.

I have had my shocks replaced so I dont think that is the problem. What are some other possibilities? I have heard someone mention possibly its a CV Joint but I wouldnt know a good CV Joint from a bad one by looking at it.

I have a 99 Ford Explorer Sport.

Just wanted to add, maybe its not really just a click but a clunk of sorts but almost metallic but not too much.

Check your sway bar end links. It's pretty common for them to be worn out, and making various noises over bumps. Also check ball joints, that's something else that could be making noise over bumps, as the suspension loads/unloads.

Thanks for the response. I will look up how to do that. Ill post back if I have further questions or if I find out the exact problem.

The original sway bar links are tough to diagnos. My looked fine, but made a huge difference after changed. can be inner tie rods too. Put your hand on them and push truck up and down, feel for vibtation...
