Heard banging noise when i got up this morning coming from my 2002 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0l.
Thought a squirrel had got in and couldn't get out.
Opened door and nothing inside, but noise still banging body of cab, not engine area.
Unhooked battery cable and noise stopped...put cable back on and put on code reader, shows everything ok.
What could this be? Help

You are going to have to provide more details. Where in the cab was the noise located? Did it come back on when you reconnected the battery cable?

Is it this?

It was all over the cab area as i stated...went away for now after unhook battery cable...haven't drove it much since, don't know if it will come back.

If it comes back, try to figure out where in the cab area its coming from. It can't possibly be coming from "all over", it has to have a source. Good luck

Thanks for your reply, but the banging sounds seem to come from all over....like a kid loose inside with a rubber mallet...my hearing is not the best.
