loose/bad pulley? I cannot detect exactly where it's coming from. I am going to check them right now. How much play should or shouldn't there be in the pulley for the power steering? I can push/pull on it, not a lot, but there is play.

there really should be close to zero play in any of your pulleys. a few thousands of an inch in/out for power steering pump and water pump shafts maybe, just so they don't bind when warm. all your other pulley's should have no perceptible play.

koda...I am 99.99 % sure it's the PS pump after close inspection of the other pulleys. I used a stethoscope and the loudest chatter came from the PS with the belt on and after running it for a minute with the belt off. So I am about to get busy with R&R of the original PS pump. I really cannot complain to much, the old gal has 214K on her.

ok...who knows a trick to getting the pressure line off without removing the fan and shroud?

all right guys. I see no way possible to loosen the pressure line on the pump woithout having to remove the radiator/fan/shroud. Also, not absolutely sure what size wrench it is either. 3/4"? Need some answers or the wife is going to kill me! lol

Can you clean out the resevior after is has been removed and what's the best method?

Crowsfoot might help, but it's just tight spaces, and you have to do a lot of wrench flipping.

Um this is a 2 year old thread, hope the OP got his/her answer by now
