Low air volume thru the blower







2002 explorer.....looking for best way to clean out debris above the screen on the HVAC blower????? Might be a rodent cooked on top but didn't want to ruin the screen going from the bottom...

Look at post #1 by "Curtis" and the 3rd and 4th photo's are what you are looking for. 3rd photo shows you the location of the 4 screws to remove to open the blower air box and get at what should be a failed "air recirculation door" (not a rat :eek:) and photo #4 shows you what the air recirculation door looks like. Disregard the instructions on removing the blower motor, no need to remove it to remove the air recirc door, just those 4 screws in photo #3. When you split the air box open, the right side of the box will open farther than the left and reach in with your fingers and feel around for the air door panel laying flat on it's side, just below the lip of the open box. Might have to turn the door panel on it's narrow side to get it to pull out thru the open air box. Replace the 4 screws when done and your blower air speed thru the vents should be great once again. Let us know how you make out.
