Fuel "regulation" is maintained by a combination of electronically monitoring fuel pressure and changing pump voltage. ECM adjusts injector pulse cycle to pressure on this last generation of engines.

I first found this thread about a year ago and never was able to get around to fix this issue. I even went to a mechanic and left it with him and he never got it to act up. Mine was acting like it was getting vapor locked when it was hot but ran driving and the pump wasn't working. Anyway I finally am pretty sure I fixed the problem before I went into the tank for the pump and it was due to this video from this guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzSyxaZ3WAg
