- 1992 ford explorer
I have a92 explorer with an a4ld that was intermittently clunking in reverse and slow to engage in drive. I decided to flush the trans and drop the pan some fine specs of silver. I removed, disassembled and cleaned the valve body without rebuilding. One peculiar note. 1 CHECK BALL was in a different location than a couple diagrams i downloaded and against my better judgement i followed the diagram. THE TTC selonoid was loose and non functional so i replaced it. Also I replaced the O-rings on low/reverse servo. I was wondering if the new felt filter could restrict pressure. After reassembly the rear clunk and slow engagement is gone but anew intermittent chatter in low/reverse that disappears in neutral or when reving engine.
