I just put new upper and lower intake gaskets in my 2000 explorer and now it runs worse, I'm wondering if I put my lower intake in backwards. How do I tell the front from the back?

Thanks
Pappy

Probably impossible. Definitely impossible on the OHV, since the water outlets are all on the front side, and the fact that the bolt-holes are staggered means you could never put it in backwards.

Check for codes, check to see if you forgot to hook up any vacuum lines, check to see if you forgot to connect any connectors, make sure you wired the spark plugs in the correct sequence since Fords are weird that way. If you don't find anything, then maybe try checking the bolt torques. If it still runs bad, then you might have to redo the job.

I have a spare lower for my '98 SOHC and it does have an "R" and "L" embossed on either side. For the life of me though, I can't tell the difference when I rotate it. Must be something or they wouldn't have done that?

I also need to change my fuel injector O-rings and the fuel injector adapters. I'm trying to find out how to remove the old ones.

Thanks
Pappy
