I was wondering if anybody knows if ford makes a lower pressure rad cap for the 2006 explorer, the current one is set to 20 PSI, most are around 13 to 16 PSI, this would probably prevent rad trouble with the lower operating pressure !!

are you having cooling system problems?
if not, why try to change it.
if the radiator and cooling system were designed for that pressure cap, then id just leave it that way.

For some reason the early 2006 explorers develop rad problems, they tend to leak, ushally around 40 to 60 thousand km's, doing some research I found that ford increased the cooling system psi in this year to decrease emisions
