- '01 Explorer Sport
My '01 Explorer Sport is the best American car I've owned, but they did do a few stupid things. As y'all know, the thermostat housing (4.0 V6) is plastic and wears out. The dealers will only sell a complete assembly for $386.00. After much searching I found one at RockAuto.com. Less than $45 delivered.
