You aren't going to be able to lower it more than a couple inches, because the front differential will hit the crossmeber. If you are serious about owning a lowered X sell your 4x and get a 2wd.

this is nor the sight or the forum to be lowering a 4x4(the truck no longer has any purpose) .....sell it and buy 2wd ....................btw check the sport truck forum

clint calm down bud...this says suspensions in the forum title too..... put blocks in the back and lowered springs or cut springs in the fromt.... however, i am with the other guys..4x4 explorer would run into a lot of difficulties being lowered than the 4x2

yeah from the way its begining to sound i guess it would be quite difficult

actually clint is still kinda right though... lowering a 4x4 is really hard... to many low hanging diff parts.....

Try going the other way, up. Why do you want to lower it? Just curious?

sell you my ex..lowered 3 inches, 92 eb teal/tan, limo tint-all windows, 2 12" jl's phoenix gold amp, pioneer 720 head unit, k&n filter, bilstein shocks, eibach springs..only problem is you live on the east coast..
