Lowering blocks...what is the actual drop?

Hi guys, I need to drop my ex another 1.5" in the rear, but I'm wondering what is the ACTUAL drop I get with blocks? I searched and read that some blocks that are 2", when lowered with the blocks you only get 1.5" or the same with 1" blocks only giving 0.5" drops. Is there a way around this or should I just compensate for the drop by getting a larger block? Thanks in advance guys, check out my registry for some pics of my ex.
