Lowering Kit?

Ne one know where i can find a lowering kit for a 1997 X? or a body kit would work also!!!?????

Or if you want to lower it 2", buy any block that is 1.5-2" and put that in between the rear axle and leaf springs then search for TT(torsion twist) and twist the torsion bars to lower it in the front. Then you'll need an alignment. Good luck

Exactly, if you just want to get it lower for looks, just do that. $30 for blocks and $50 for the alignment.

If you are lowering for the handling, you might wanna get the EE kit. I for one am not concerned with the "Cadillac" type ride people are after. I drive a Ford, it's made to LAST, not for the comfort ride. If I was that concerned about smoothness, I'd have something else.

Eccentric kit is needed. Need 2 sets. About $30 - $35 each sided plus 1 hour labor cost to install, which, on this side of town, cost $80.

All in all, prepare to spend about $200.

Depending on how low you want to go you can do two things.

Get your blocks whatever size you need from autozone/steeda(has 1.5 made for explorers)pepboys/etc. That's about $30.

Then either get the cams from ford for about $15 bucks for both sides. These are 1.50 degree adusters I beileve. If you're gonna go lower get a full set of cam/cam bolt adjusters of up to 2.25 degrees from Ebay, or from NAPA, they seem to be the exact same thing. That's gonna run you $50 bucks for both sides.

Get an alignment afterwards. $125 to $160(with alignment) bucks to lower it. The kit from EE runs you $160 without alignment.
