I'm in the process of lowering, probably end up with blocks, but I'm gonna be changing the leaf springs too, they're kinda old. Does anyone know of lowering leaf springs, and roughly how much the cost? Or would I be better of getting blocks/reg springs?

well... i guess if you want lowering springs, you could probably get some mono-leaf's out of a Sport. That would lower it some (heck, mine were saggin' on my '99 Sport when I swapped them out for 4 door leaf packs in May)

I'll be swapping my mono leafs to 4dr leafs soon. I will save them if you want them....... but I dont know how much lower they will make you, albeit some...

Whats the ride quality on a monoleaf compared to a multi?

I believe it is a little softer or less harsh, and it is a progressive spring. I will be honest, the problem with them is they tend to sag. What I would do is put the swap them from their oroiginal sides, so it sags evenly, which would probably lower it a little more. ;)

there are 3" lowering springs on the market. i forget who makes them. at any rate, ive heard the ride quality is really bad compared to stock. this is only what ive HEARD, as ive never riden in an X with them on it. :)

AIM sells 3" lowered leaf springs, but I would never buy anything from them. Very bad rep.

The springs from 95-01 are the same correct?
If they are I'm just gonna pick up some leaf springs off a '01 from a junkyard and install blocks. If they're not probably buy new ones. Thanks for the offer though nweibley.

Wouldn't removing a leaf spring from your current stock ones accomplish the same thing?

You mean, one of the leafs from the packet? I'm trying to recover some ride quality also.

PM Trckmagik, he has some rear lowered leaf springs that were only used for a couple months that he had on his sporttrac before we rolled it. I bet he would be willing to give you a good deal on them.

Yes. That is exactly what I meant. I think it would work.
