M5OD 3rd gear problems?

I’m having an occasional problem with 3rd gear in my 94, my current daily driver.
Sometimes it doesn’t seem to fully go into third, when I let out the clutch it will grind a little and pop out. If I push in the clutch and shift again, it will hold and engage.
It seems to be doing it more lately, but maybe it’s just that I’m paying attention.
I bought a parts truck a few years ago (the 95) that came with no functioning third gear, that’s why it’s the parts truck.
Now I’m wondering if there’s a common issue with third on these transmissions.
The one in my 93 has been issue free for 350,000 miles.
Any thoughts?

No idea, but highly unlikely, IMO. Nobody here does that, it would have had to have been shipped off.

Have atf in the trans? I've seen people put gear oil in them and they slowly eat themselves.

Hmm, I assume so, but it’s a 26 year old truck that I’ve owned one year, so I really don’t know.
I did check the level with my finger back when I got it, and didn’t notice any wrong color or smell, but I wasn’t really looking for that. Guess I’ll check again.
