MAF Cleaning Question with pic

I took out the sensor part of my MAF to clean it today and noticed that there were several wires in there. From what everyone said you are supposed to clean the 2 on the right connected by a resistor but what about the other ones?

I doubt that I can get a q-tip in there without f-ing it up!

You need to clean the little silver filaments. Take a q-tip and dip it in your cleaning solution and very lightly rub the q-tip over the filaments.

Thanks, but there were 4 other filaments as noted in the pic (the ones on the left). Do those have to be cleaned as well?

*edit* The pic is blurry, but there are 4 addtional ones in the plastic housing.

Where can I get those security torx drivers so I can remove my MAF? I have checked at Sears, AutoZone and Oreillys. Anywhere else i can check?

I got the security torx bits from a computer tool set I had. There are multiple sizes and shapes. Fortunately enough for me I still had these laying around although I never, ever ran across such screws when working on a PC and I've seen thousands.

If you can't find these types of bits at your local automotive store, you might check into finding them at a large computer supply store i.e., CompUSA or anything like it.

Security Hex Bit Set

Not bad for $10 (comes with other security bits as well as Torx). The only difference was my case was blue. I never needed to use them until now but it's a great thing to have on hand!

Now what about my question?
