MAF interchangeability

My '92 Explorer MAF has part no. F07F-12B579-A2B on it. Does anyone know if a MAF from a '93 part no. F07F-12B579-A2C will work on my '92 ? It sure looks the same, but the module might have differences.
Can the modules be changed ? How about interchangeability with other years and Rangers ?

I guess I stumped a lot of people with the question on what years the MAFs will interchange.
I've been slogging thru websites and asking counter guys questions and here's what I've
found that might be of use to someone. The best site I've found to see what parts are used
for various years is discountautoparts.com. According to their online info they list the same
MAF sensor part no. for the '91-'95 Explorers & '90-'95 Rangers with the 4.0 V-6 OHV.

I asked my best friend who is a ASE Master Tech and works for the Local Ford/Mazda Dealer here.

He said what you and i both thought.

Yes they will work.

A MAF from any Ford OHV (Pushrod) 4.0 Liter will work.

So you should be ok.
