If anyone saw my last post: I went out and got a JVC940 cd player, a 500 watt amp and two ten inch subs in a bandpass. Ive hooked up at least 30 decks by now and i cant get this to work! Music comes out of the subs but not the door speakers. I have the premium jbl sound in my 93 EB. The local stereo shop gave me a regular harness and then another set of wires to bypass the stock amps. If anyone can tell me what to do, my headaches will be gone and they will be worshiped as a god.

Soulman,

Could you please give me some more details. Like : what kinda amp you got, is it a 4 channel, are you planned on running all your speakers of the amp ? do you have 4 pre outs ?

take care,

im trying to run my door speakers off the deck, but if you need to know its a 2 channel jensen with the built in crossover, and the deck has front and rear preouts. Thanks

soulman,

i'm not sure if this will work for you but in mine the same thing happened and i asked what was wrong at the local audio store. they told me that in order to have the factory amp turn on there was another wire to hook up. i'm not sure which wire that was but i think it was a spare wire from the truck and maybe the power antenna wire from the head unit. i'm not sure. since the explorer doesn't have a power antenna it isn't hooked up to anything. it will put power through that when the head unit is on thus turning on the factory amp. again i hope this gives you something to look into but i'm not positive.

good luck

It still doesnt work! But thanks for trying, if noone has any other advice, ill just wire the speakers of the deck.

Did you make sure that you the remote line-out lead is connected? It seems like no music would play because you don't have the premium amp turned on to play the music. The amp won't turn on without it. Did you already put the amp bypass in?

I also put a JVC940 in my explorer sport with a Clarion amp and 2 12 inch JL Audio's.
I still had the factory amp wired up. I could drive for a while just jammin and my front speakers would cut off. I tried to bypass the factory amp. But all the audio dealers I talked to said they dont make one for my explorer model. What was happening was the factory amp was overheating and shutting off because the radio was putting out more watts than the factory radio. We cut all wires to the factory amp. and rewired to the speakers. Everything rocks like hell now. I dont if this is similar but, I hope this helps. Where did you get the factory amp. bypass? I have a friend that has an exp. and they want to sup-up their system.
