Makes 87 octane into 93

Just read in the knew 4 Wheel & off mag. about the Fitch Fuel catalyst. Sounds to good to be true. I did a search and seen where Aldive posted a question about it back in 02. Just wondering if anybody has used it or know of someone who has it. I went to the webb site and even called them up. He said that it makes 87 oct. to like 92 or better and 93 into something like racing fuel. HE said that you wont have carbon build up anymore and that your oil will even be cleaner and that you can actually see the color difference in the oil. The secret is that it makes the gas more efficient. It takes about 500 miles to brake it in. The reason is that it actually starts cleaning the carbon residue in the engine and after that you will start seeing a significant increase in milage. This is what blows me away when he told me of all the Co.s that use it. Some are fortune 5oo. Coka cola, Fed x and a hole bunch more. He said that the gas starts going bad the day it leaves the refineary and this thing thru some kind of electrical ###tion restores it to even better combustionable qualities. Bottom line over $400.00 with the kit to hook up to my fuel rail OUCH

If it sounds too good to be true...

Exaggerated claims like "turns 87 octane gas into 93 octane gas" or "racing fuel" is a pretty good giveaway it's a gimmick. Making the oil cleaner is a good one too. Good high-quality gasoline with a good amount of additives and detergents is just fine for keeping a engine clean of carbon deposits. Beware of stuff like this that demands a $400 investment for wild claims. When theres repeatable results documented in a few independent studies, it might be worth looking into.

Add two gallons of Toulene to 20 gallons of 87 and you get 93.
Before the naysaysers diss the toulene additive, thats what all the gas blenders use to raise octane, is also what is in all the so called octane boosters the uninformed buy.
Is no way to electrically raise octane

If you ever look at a 55 gallon drum of race fuel (Sunoco/Cam2), you'll see it's 99% Toluene (per the label).

See if there's a money back guarentee on the fuel catalyst thing. then, you have nothing to lose!

a lot of race cars dont use unleaded gas and usually use some octane level with at least 3 digits.....

Nobody ever said it was racing fuel, the topic was 93 octane, take 93 and add two gals of toulene to 10 gals and you have true racing fuel, about 105

You'll probably have MORE carbon build-up if you try to run 93 octane in a truck that is programmed to burn 87 octane...

I would like to see a write-up by Coke cola or Fed-x saying how great or not this product is. It would seem to me if its as good as he says it is how come the major auto makers arn't beating a path to his door to install this contraption on their cars or least as an option. Seems the EPA or what ever its called would also want to make it mandatory. This needs to go on Myth Busters I'm serious.

Actually the bottom line is: run 200 octane gas in your N/A.O.E.M computer controlled EX, and the end result will be 0 H.P increase

Depends on what you're racing and what the sanctioning body stipulates. Toluene, by it's nature, does not contain lead (it's an additive). But, yes, CAM2 is 114 octane. However, the intention was not to run CAM2 but to boost the octane rating of pump gas.
