making my own off road bumpers

I have been thinking of making my own off road bumpers for more clearance, and i think they have a great look on explorers. can you guys post pics and specs on your home made bumpers so i can get a ideal of what i want and what it will take to build?

Here are a couple pics of ours.. These are right after we made it.. it is no where near that black anymore...

One of the things I like is that we can get a tire onto a rock easier now since the bumper is higher on the sides. The bottom bar only goes between the frame rails when the upper bar goes all the way across. I've used the bumper as a jacking point.. It moves some, but not enough to worry.
