I've had an exhaust leak for quite sometime. While changing my spark plugs (thanks to the threads on here only took 15 minutes per side) I noticed my right manifold gasket is split and that is where the sound is coming from. How hard is it to change this out? Simple as 8 bolts and muscling the manifold away a little bit? or is it more complex than this? Thanks.

Which motor?

that might help....1996 Explorer AWD V8 5.0. While we're on it...when I had it on the lift there seemed to me no way in hell to change the front differential fluid. Is it worth it and how much would someone charge?

the manifold bolts are not too difficult to get to, remove the inner fender liner and there they are. Some extensions and sockets and its an easy job. I would think it would be fairly easy to slip a new gasket in, assuming you could get your old gasket out. I would check and make certain your manifolds are not split/broken, those are notorious for leaking. You may get some useful info from my TMH thread. There is a link to it in my signature.
