My intake manifold is sitting on a green gasket. Is this the defective kind? Thanks, rc

RJC,

Please be more detailed. Is there a problem that made you check the manifold? Or did you read something that makes you think something might be wrong?

I have a very slight rough idle and am running down the possibilities. I read here these was a "defect" with the factory gaskets and that coolant leak was a sign. I've got some very, very slow leakage somewhere and am wondering if tha might be it??? I just put fuel injection cleaner in the tank yesterday to see what that does. My vehicle runs good but it does smell like it's running a little rich. rc

upper is green.

The "good" intake gasket is a stamped metal wth bonded rubber sealing surfaces, its gold cad plated. This is the intake to head and block gasket.

The upper intake gasket is a green gasket from Ford. This is the gasket between the upper intake and the lower intake

Thanks, I must be looking at the upper intake gasket and now the lower one. rc
