Ok, so I just replaced my passenger side wheel bearings, and when I took it for a spin after putting everything back together, out of nowhere I have this clicking noise that sounded like it was coming from the hub. I verified that it is indeed the hub clicking, and it seems to not want to work in "Free" mode.
Almost as if it's not disengaging. I spun my tire with the hub on and I can see the axle shaft spinning even when the Hub is set to free... so I think it's a no-brainer that the hub is messed up.
I'm soaking it in tranny fluid right now, so I'm hoping that will help. The hub us very clean on the inside, and I've never had a problem with them since converting in November.
Any ideas on what may have caused this? Or maybe a solution that might allow me to not buy a new hub?
I have an old shot automatic hub, I was thinking about throwing on there for the meantime. They would just never "engage", would it hurt anything to have the automatic on there just so that I can drive my exploder until I have the time/cash to get a new hub?
