So I just picked up a 99 sport 2wd with a 5speed manual, its a southern rust free truck. I want to do a 5.0l swap, I have a line on a 2nd gen 5.0l as a doner for the engine and electrical, what I am curious about is what manual transmission to replace my M50D-R1 I have read about the ranger guys using the M50D-R2 out of the 4.2 v6 F-150s would this be the same for the Explorer ? Will this put my shifter in the proper position ?
