Many problems plus a small rant.

Add into the letter that they should come to this forum to find out about "how cars work."

These people (warranty co. reps) know NOTHING about autos - they're just paper-pushers and penny-pinchers...if a bill looks high, they balk. A small repair bill is less likely to be denied.

The fact that your mechanic repaired many different things to track down another problem will NOT help your case. The mechanic should've tested each related component before "R/R'n" (remove/replace). It doesn't help his credibility either.

i didn't notice but did u ever get the code read? Apparently, whatever he did didn't help...

Why wait 'til now???

Just wondering...what the H3LL took you so long to post about the problem?

If the repair was made on 12/7, why is it 12/27 when you decided to post?

I hadn't driven my car for a few weeks and then when I finally did, my CEL came on again. At first I was just gonna let it slide, but since they didn't do the job right, I want my money back on what they were suppose to pay for me.

Why not go back to the machanic, too? He's at fault for making unnecessary repairs (unless the code is different now).

So if I go back to the mechanic do I ask him to repair it again since he didn't get it right? I don't know if the codes are the same, but the new ones are 171 and 174.

After reading what alot of people said about the check engine light coming on I think I have the same problem. What the mechanic did was the same thing some of the people on here did to fix the problem. I think its that 00M12 and 01M01 recall because I'm expreiencing the same problems. When I looked at the ford website though my truck dosen't fall into that recall if I tell them I'm experiecing the same problems would they still fix it under the recall.

Im headed over to the mechnic right now, but I just disconnected my battery and my check engine light went off. Can I still tell him that it was on and what the codes where?

edit: I checked the MAF sensor to try and see if it could fix my idle or gas milage, and he has already replaced it, so i know that isn't the problem.

Yeah I though they were suppose to all be V-8s. Thats why I'm surprised mine isn't. My mounty dosent even have the keypad on the side of the door or leather seats like others do.

Also i remember another problem. My door unlock button on the drivers side dosen't work either. Could it be a fuse thats blown out or maybe the whole thing?

I fixed my door lock problem in 5 minutes for free.

Holy crap, I'm lucky if I get 250 to a tank!

Yeah me too, except I'm happy when I get over 200. Of course I do have 177000+ miles on mine...

Its been awhile since ive see nthis thread.

Well i got $600 back from the warrenty comapny.

I went to the ford ealership to get it fixed and it cost like alot of money, I only paid like i think $300 and the warrenty comapny covered the rest. The dealership lacky told me that the TSB was not valid anymore so that why i had to pay to get it fixed, but it was worth it. I also got the lock fixed.

So right now im starting to get like 320 miles per gallon if i try not to keep pushing the accelerator to try and get a sound out of my stock exhaust.
