Not very long ago, I replaced the MAF sensor in my 2000 Explorer Sport, 4.0L OHV...X VIN with an aftermarket from like autozone I think. My question is, do these need to be calibrated after installation? It seems I may be having issue with the computer adjusting the proper air mix and causing a bit of a rough idle and also inconsistant shifts with the tranny. Does this sound possible? Also, does anyone think I should just go and replace it again with the actual motorcraft part?

Please help.

Thank you

Thank you

did you disconnect your battery and let everything reset its self? if not i would try that and if the problem still occurs i would be taking it back to autozone or just go get the motorcraft one from somewhere else (rockauto.com, ect.).

remember when you reset everything let it idle a few after starting it back up after reconnecting everything.
