ok here is my problem. i just bought a adapter plate off of ebay. and a k&n AIr filter. i put them on and my check engine lite came on. it was suppost to. well i have now rest the computer three times. and it still wont go off. will this make my car run lean or to rich. i dont want to blow the motor up. please help. :exp: :exp: :exp:

The 911 answer is: put the stock one back on and it will be fine.

*moved to Under The Hood for further discussion about the aftermarket one.
 






CEL codes don't just " go away " either the problem gets fixed or things fall back with in the allowable peramiters.
You can clear a code till you are blue in the face but if the system remains in fault the light will come back again and again.
 






i had it checked out and it the air temp sensor. so i was taold that it will be just fine i hope
