ok..
i may be getting new tires in the next few months. i really like the wear of my bfg ATs as i have about 40k on them and hardly look like they've been used treadwise. i have a HUGE slice in the tread just at the bottom of the sidewall of one and its finally starting to grow. its been like this since june and no problems but i figure i should ditch it soon enough before it blows out at highway speed. anyway.. i don't want to spend so much to get the bfgs or wrangler mt/r or procomps or whatever if the less expensive stuff is gonna do fine.

basically, i can get these mastercrafts (made by cooper who makes procomp) for dealer cost. the coopers i can get really cheap as well. anyway, just wanted opinions on these. how does the tread look to everyone. i can effectively go through 2 sets of these for about the same price of 1 set of bgfs or equivalent. thanks!

The coopers look just like a procomp MT. Haven't heard alot of great things about them.

But those Mastercraft ones look great. The side biting stuff on the side is a big plus :exp:

yeah the sides look similar the xterrains.. the side biter parts that is.
by the way.. i forgot to evan ask for opinions in my original post. so if anyone has used these let me know please! thanks!

a friend of mine has those cooper's and he likes them alot. he's had them as 33s and now he has them as 35s.

i assume you are talking about lizardtrac?

Yeah he's the one. Another friend of mine has lizards 33s on his truck (dasfrem) and as far as i know he's happy with them too.

yeah i asked him about them the other day. he told me he liked them. i saw them on that video in the whoops thread of all yall hauling it backward down the hill.
thanks..

anyone else?

I just had the Coopers... I liked them. Traction in the rain was good, but not as good as my new set of tires (rained the second and third day after I got them)..

the Coopers look like a ProComp MT because that is just what they are. the ProComp MT & Xterrain, the Mastercraft, the Disoverer STT, the Mickey Thompson radial Baja Claws are all the same tire. the only difference is the mold is shaped different for the different tread design.

with that in mind, i would take the Mastercrafts. the STT's work well for 'crawling and trails, but they flat out suck in the mud (compared to any other standard radial MT). they will not clean out. the STT also roar as bad if not worse than a swamper after about 15k miles. swamper noise, but not swamper performance.

looks like i'll be supporting your company for a set of 5 pretty soon then!
thanks all!
