Ok on my car the AC has a slider for a bunch of options and 1 of them is the Max A/C postition. When I put it there the AC only blows out in one spot by the passengers feet. So what is the deal with that??? But when I slide it to the "Panel" spot it runs fine, but i smell everything that I drive through. So anybody have any suggestions?

sounds like the switch isnt operating the way it is supposed to..... there may be a kink in hte line somewhere?

Which line are u talking about...Im not good with A/C.

That is a very strange problem you have. When you switch to MAX A/C, the system just recirculates the air within the vehicle. A port opens up under the dash on the passenger side, and the air is drawn in there. If you have air blowing out from there, something is seriously wrong.

If you have manual controls, check that the linkage is working properly, both at the port under the dash and on the control itself (you'll have to take it out of the dash). If you have power controls, you may have a vacuum leak in the feed -- those can be tough to find.

Good luck, sounds like fun.

You have manual controls. It's a flintstones-style cable that is connected to your a/c lever thing. The lever is attached to a plastic cam that has indents for the various settings--off--max ac--panel--floor--defrost and so forth. Sometimes the lever gets offtrack and that could be your problem. The lever could be offtrack--if so you need to take apart the dash and get in there and put it back on track, clean the cam and lever, and lube it with silicone spray. It is a pain in the *** job, tearing into the dash. I had to do it to free up a tiny defrost switch once.

Interesting Points, I have a manual lever. When i turned on my A/C MAX it sounds really loud under the Passenger side, but maybe something is stuck in the vent where it sucks up the air? Where is the vent? Also i noticed that the air comming out is very weak, but there is air comming out the vents. But I dont think any air is comming out of where it sucks up the air. I have to look around.
