Well, I sold my third explorer and upgraded to '97 5.4L expedition. Honestly, the f-series and expedition forums i've found don't hold a candle to this place. There's hardly no tech advice and basically "WHAT DO U THINK OF MY WHEELS AND HEADLIGHTS". explorer forum is superior to all and has always answered every question I've had.

I'm looking at an intake system (www.jlttruecoldair.com) for the expedition... it requires the relocation of the mass-air-meter and has wire nuts/wires to extend it. I would rather not do this... I was wondering if there is an extension cable for the mass air meter cable? I think they were all 4-pin and the exact same on all ford products before 02 when they went to 6-pin, PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong... but does anyone know where I could locate an extension?

Thanks!!!

if you do extend it urself, use wire crimps...not wire nuts...

If I end up doing it myself, I will solder/heat shrink tube, then electrical tape around that.

I don't see a problem with extending the wires if you solder and heat shrink. I highly doubt there's an extension cable available.

if i were you i'd solder electrical tape over that then use the heat shrink just be sure to tape about a 1/4" longer on either side of the heat shrink tube... just my opinion tho :) gl with the task at hand...
