I'd like to really, all they had was 4s and.. really I'm paranoid about the whole car thing.

I've been driving trucks suvs and v8 cars since before I was 15, I dont know if I could get used to a FWD 6 with less than 200 ft lbs of torque.

Also financially speaking.... this will never happen.. I'm stuck in the mounty for atleast another 5 years unless I luck up and get a really good job

I was iffy as to whether I really liked the car, I was sitting in the dealership wondering what the grille would look like painted.. then he handed me a brochure and I saw this:

6.jpg

I REALLY like that paint color grille.. the body skirts hafta go tho heh, if I ever got one it'd hafta have that grille, thats just awesome

testdrove

I took out a 4 today.. loaded with the sport package..

and I know there was a guy on the forum here that blew one away in a race.. but....

this thing.. is ridiculously faster than my mounty.. in all power bands, even tho its working itself to 4-5k rpm on a take-off.. it sailed up to speed.. and with a 7000 rpm redline, it still had a long way to go.

I beleive this particular model was rated 160hp and about 3300 pounds of car.

The car stops on a dime as well. The huge 11" rotors I guess. The car also has an 18gal tank.. so it looks like it would get almost 350 or so miles per tank.. very impressive.

Everything about the car seemed well designed, even the electronic sport shift on the automatic.

I like it.

Myu only complaints:

Leg room.. my knee kept feeling cranked against the large center console, plenty of room everywhere else however.

Low end.. even tho it was considerablly faster at all accelerations, low end, high end.. the responsiveness of the low end of this particular car was alittle bit less than I would expect form a brand new vehicle. I actually found myself yelling "GO!" at one point when it refused to respond. By the time I had the O out however.. it jumped up to 5k rpm and sailed up to speed.

radio.. this is just me, I dont like stock audio.. this car had the bose.. which sounded great.. but not near in comparison IMO to my aftermarket components in the lemoneer... I would defiatley have to replace that radio.. but as yo ucan tell.. that might be difficult with all taht integratoin.

Well thats my review hehe, the price is nice as well.. I dont think I could do a car, but the handling performance space and ride quality all blow my mounty out of the water.

I still want one. :)

Im gonna keep my Explorer and would like to purchase a sporty car! I miss having a small sporty car.

Im looking at a new Mustang or Mazda 6, these two cars are what im most interested in...

Darkfox, will you ever learn lol, always wanting more power then you go test a 4 cylinder version with an auto:confused: :p

Go drive the 6s with the snarling Duratec V6 and manual, and you'll be like     .

EDIT- fixed for Darkfox lol

Thats not a complaint lol, not about the mazda..

yea I wanted to test a 6 cyl but they didn't have one.. he said to look for one next month. Real friendly guy.

I was already like     as you put it lol

I was looking at lease prices for that and they are VERY reasonable, im also drawn to the cars reputation for outstanding reliability.

Bah everyone likes Acura these days. They are good cars for the price, but it's just another Honda. People seem to forget that and think they are getting a true luxury car :)Personally i don't like the looks on those cl's and tl's, and especially the mdx. Nasty looking suv! Chucky test drive an Oldsmobile Aurora 03 or 02! They are a lot nicer then the Acura. My mom has an 02 Aurora and i would highly recommend it.

lol, i dont like the looks of the aurora, with the Acura, im not expecting a total luxery car at all. Im expecting reliability.

New aurora's are hot! Just take a look at the interior of one. If you want reliable get a toyota/lexus :)
My friend just bought a used gs400 recently. It's o so nice and o so fast. We clocked 5.8/5.9secs for 0-60(stock).

I do agree Acuras arent true luxury cars, but they are really cheap, especially to lease. I know what you mean Chuck, my son was shopping entry level luxury cars to lease, and he could have leased a TL with nothing down and a GPS system for under $400  He finally went with the new ES300.

as for the Aurora? I wouldn't. Oldsmobile is going to be phased out after this year, and the resale values on the Aurora are TERRIBLE! Forget about leasing because of that, it costs $2-300 more a month than buying.

I also agree, if you want a reliable luxury car, go Lexus. Only issue is I think the Lexuses are a little out of his price range, I got thew opinion Chuck was interested in the Acura because its so affordable. You can't lease a IS300 even for less than $500 a month or so. My son's ES300 is loaded and costs him around $550 on a 48 month lease, you can lease a GS300 for $600 or so, GS430 for $750 or so, LS430 for around $1000, SC430 for about the same.

Exactly Stephen, where else can you find a Semi-luxury car that is Extrmely reliable for about 300 a month with 3500 down including taxes, fees, and first months payment.

Semi-luxury meaning leather and other options that most cars dont come with, not to mention loaners IF the car ever needs to be serviced. My father's MDX has been serviced once in the past 2 years.

You can't, Acura's the cheapest. Actually with $3500 down you may make it UNDER $300 on a 3.2CL.

Not to mention their navigation system is one of the best, HID lights, free loaners and a great luxury car legnth warranty.

Go for the Type-S at least, you will not be sorry;) . I'm nt fond of the CL Type-S's new look and different rims, but the TLS are still very nice and smooth......and a screamin engine:D

I'm not an acura fan to say the least.. after the reputation honda has, I'm pretty much repulsed even by a stock honda.. but.. I've been looking at cars in the 10-30k price range.. mostly for the hell of it.. its not like I'll ever be able to afford a car

the TL looks like a nice car, and with 260hp.. it has a LOT more bang for the buck than comparative vehicles.. the new chevy lineup of cars is pathetic.. the impala malibu and monte carlo even with the SS package only have a weak 200hp.. not the kind of power I'd pay 30k for.

On the other hand.. as an suv owner, I know the positive effectrs of owning a truck/suv are far greater than the smooth ride and economy mileage that a car produces, and for the 19-30k range you can get a nice truck, ranging from a base model F-150 to.. wlel heh, a base model F-250 and everything in between. Cars are nice, but trucks are better :)

Well, i looked at the CL Type S today, and for the Price (30,000 dollar car), it really is a solid buy. 350 a month for 42 months with 3500 out of pocket. In that 3500, there is only 1000 more out of my pocoect then i would have to put down.

Power was great, the seats were very sporty, and features were awesome!

At that price, it blows the 6 out of the water!
