Is there and forum member that has a line on Fords extended warranty. Suggestion for coverage and cost from a Ford or Mercury dealer. I have a 2004 Mountaineer with 30k miles. Still under the factory warranty.

Personally, I think that you are better off saving the money. You are gambling that you are going to have a claim that they will cover that is going to cost more than the price of the warranty. I have an '03 with 80k miles--have had about $750 in work done on it out of warranty (trans solenoids and rear abs sensor), and need to have the a/c recharged (I think that the leak near the rear wheel is back that was repaired under warranty 2 years ago, but want to see where it is coming from myself). So, figuring another $600 for that repair, it is less than the cost of the warranty that may or may not cover these things.

Otherwise, I believe that I have seen around $2.5-3.5k in mailings for a 100k warranty.

warranty direct

Try warranty direct. I found them online. I got bumper to bumper for either 5 or 7 years
and up to 100,000 miles. it is for a 04 xlt 4x4 and it had 36000 miles. it was
1600 and then for 100 more it covered the exhaust stuff..it even covers gaskets when they leak.. so for 1700 I thought it was worth it.. now at 44000
the trans is acting up again. this was fixed under the ford warranty at 30000. well hope this helps
