Message Center Compatibility

Does anybody know if a message center will work in my 95X. It's supposed to fit 95-99 Explorers in place of where the storage compartment on the console goes. I poped my storage compartment out but did not find any unused wire harness.
I suspect these came in the Eddie Bauer edition only.
Kindly advise if this is only for the EB's.

These also came in the limited models. Even though it was an option, it won't work unless yours came from the factory with one. I even called the Ford dealer to make sure. There is someone on this board that has done it though.

Yeah, it'll be too much of a hassle. The guy who done this took him like more than 20 hours to splice and connect the wires together. So in my opinion, it's not a great idea to do it. Plus, I don't use it much anyway. I usually leave it at x.. miles to empty screen. There's nothing fun to do with it.

Thanks for your responses guys, I saw it on Ebay and I emailed the guy and asked him if it would work in my vehicle, his response was, "I don't know, check with your local dealer". No way will I spend 20 hours and splicing wires, not worth the effort and potentially screwing something else up in the process.
