Has anyone installed a message center in a Sport?

I just picked one up with pigtailed harnesses and am now wondering if it will be possible to make the fuel level work with my 17 gal tank instead of a 21 gal tank like the 4 doors have. (Pretty sure the gas gage is just a float that sends a variable voltage to the dash so I'm wondering if when full, the M/C will think there is 21 gallons or 17 gallons remaining)

Thanks in advance,

-Brett

There is a wire on the M/C that's gounded for operation with a V6, and powered 12v for a V8, but nothing to select the tank size.

Yeah, so i'm beginning to wonder if the unit is just programmed to full being 21 gallons and uses the float position for a percentage of 21 gallons used I wonder where I could find out the voltage range for the fuel gage

The message center fuel level accuracy is very poor. Rely on the gas guage.
The message centers learn your driving habits, mileage, etc. They are close, but usually read high on the MPG. Good luck,
Don
