metal fuel filter tool

has anyone used the metal tool to succesfully get the fuel filter off. If so how did u do it. I know how to do it but the metal doesnt work.

I used the plastic one. I just didn;t like the idea of metal scraping on metal near a fuel source. Just clip it on the fuel filter above where it meets the fuel line, push the fuel filter in towards the line to separate the filter from the clips, slide the clip under the fuel line cusp until it is all the way in. Slowly wiggle the fuel filter away from the line. Sometimes wiggling and turning helps to separate it.
