my dad has a 97 explorer limited 5.0 V8 with a metal rubbing noise in the left front wheel. You can drive for a couple of miles before the noise starts, does it turning the wheel, going forward, backward etc. When the truck is on the lift at the shop and you run the wheels with no weight on them there is no noise at all. We found the caliper got stuck at one time and rubbed on the rotor but that has been fixed and the sound still continues. The truck has new tie rods, brake pads and rotors, and a new left front hub. Any ideas? Only thing we could think of is the axle. thanks.
